New faces at RCNSW

Pictured (from left to right) at RCNSW's November board meeting were Mayor Josh Black from Dubbo Regional Council, Mayor Nina Dalton from Goulburn Mulwaree Council, Mayor Chris Cherry from Tweed Shire Council, Deputy Mayor Jim Hickey from Broken Hill City Council, Deputy Mayor Todd Redwood from Armidale Regional Council, NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Jenny Aitchison, RCNSW Chair and Lismore City Council Mayor Steve Krieg, Mayor Doug Curran from Griffith City Council, and Mayor Kenrick Winchester from Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council.

As many would know, council elections were held across New South Wales on Saturday 14 September and there has been some change in the leadership of our regional cities.

We have the pleasure of welcoming the following councillors as their municipality’s new RCNSW representative:

  • Cr Nikki Williams from the City of Coffs Harbour,

  • Cr Joshua Black from Dubbo Regional Council,

  • Cr Nina Dillon from Goulburn Mulwaree Council, and

  • Cr Tony Mileto from Orange City Council.

Welcome back to Cr Kevin Mack from Albury City Council and Cr Robert Taylor from Bathurst Regional Council, both of whom have previously had a seat at our board table.

Thanks also goes to our outgoing board members who were integral to advancing our agenda throughout 2024:

  • Cr Kylie King from Albury City Council,

  • Cr Jess Jennings from Bathurst Regional Council,

  • Cr Paul Amos from the City of Coffs Harbour,

  • Cr Peter Walker from Goulburn Mulwaree Council, and

  • Cr Jason Hamling from Orange City Council.

Lastly, a special thank-you to Cr Mathew Dickerson from Dubbo Regional Council, who served as Chair of RCNSW for the past two years. Cr Dickerson led us through many challenges and thanks to his leadership, regional cities have received key support to address housing availability, skills shortages and natural disaster recovery.
