RCNSW meets with the Hon Wendy Tuckerman MP, Minister for Local Government

The RCNSW Board has been making representations on behalf of regional cities, recently hosting a meeting with the Hon Wendy Tuckerman MP State Minister for Local Government regarding the Memorandum of Understanding between RCNSW and the State Government, and to discuss the IPART’s review of the rate peg to include population growth and the state’s emergency services levy and its impact on council finances.

Our board also met with the Hon Sam Farraway MLC, State Minister for Regional Transport and Roads to discuss regional road and transport issues. 

Given the dire shortage of housing in regional areas, our Board was pleased to engage in a productive discussion with the Hon Anthony Roberts MP State Minister for Planning and Homes to discuss regional housing shortages, regional planning delivery and regional priorities.

Our board also hosted briefings with Mr Gary Barnes, Secretary of the Department of Regional NSW to discuss the department’s priorities in addition to opportunities for further collaboration.
