Cr Tom Kennedy

Mayor Tom Kennedy has given Broken Hill two decades of service as a Councillor, and was elected to the position of Mayor in 2021.

In addition to Mayoral duties, Cr Kennedy holds representative positions on various key Council and inter-Governmental bodies including Regional Capitals Australia, Western NSW Mining and Resource Development Taskforce, Australian Mining Cities and Centres Alliance, and Regional Cities NSW.

Outside of Council, Mayor Kennedy runs his own business, and has served the city on various community-based committees in the sectors of sport, aged and disabled care, and education.
