RCNSW outlines budget priorities

RCNSW has prepared a detailed Pre-Budget Submission 2022-23 to outline our key funding priorities and policy priorities required to support our growing cities. The submission has a particular focus on:
1. A better plan to manage our increasing population: with recommendations to increase the housing supply in our member cities;
2. Improving the connectivity of our regions: to make sure that our cities have the right digital connections;
3. Ensuring the economic infrastructure exists: through the provision of ‘special’ or ‘’job precincts for each of our member cities; and
4. A better plan for renewable energy: to make sure the large scale energy infrastructure meets the needs of our community.
We have also highlighted the ways the sustainability of local government is being challenged with the competing factors of growth and rate pegging.
As we head into 2022 we will begin engaging with relevant Ministers and elected leaders on these important issues.
