Regional Cities New South Wales (RCNSW) would today like to extend their thanks to the Hon John Barilaro MP for his extensive work supporting regional communities.

RCNSW Chair Cr Tim Overall expressed his gratitude to Mr Barilaro, “I would like to thank Mr Barilaro for his steady leadership and representation of regional NSW over the past 10 years, I wish him all the best on future endeavours.”

“Mr Barilaro has been a steadfast advocate for regional NSW since his appointment to Parliament in March 2011,” Cr Overall said. “He has continued this important work for regional communities following his appointment as Deputy Premier in November 2016.”

During Mr Barilaro’s time in office, regional NSW has endured one of the toughest times in history with drought, flood, bushfires, plague and a global pandemic - all of which has had a devastating effect on our regions.

Mr Barilaro has supported the important role regional cities play as service hubs providing health, education and jobs supporting regional cities to become a liveable alternative to Sydney. This has become more important than ever with the popularity of a tree-change during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We look forward to continuing to work with the incoming Deputy Premier and State colleagues on the many opportunities that now exist for business and people to make a regional city home,” Cr Overall said.
